Hair Extension Care

Daily – Make sure you’re using the oil or conditioner on the ends of your extensions daily. This will help the prevention of dreads. It will be easier on your extensions if you brush through the top with a brush and use your fingers to brush through the hair extensions.  Always hold the tape- in weft while brushing. If you pull too hard, just like with your natural hair, it will come out.

Nightly – This is a crucial part of the care of your extensions, nighttime. We suggest you either braid it in a loose braid to sleep or have it up in some way. You should be using a satin/silk pillowcase so you don’t rough up the cuticles in your hair at night due to the fact that this will be one of the reasons your extensions dread.

Shampoo and Conditioning – Try not to wash the extensions more than every 3-4 days. You shouldn’t be washing your hair much more than that anyways but if you are a person who feels it necessary to wash your hair every day, only shampoo the top of your head close to your roots and try to avoid the extensions.

We also suggest using a dry shampoo in between the days you wash your hair, this will help keep your hair healthy but also it takes away the oils from the roots. (Even if you don’t have extensions it is not good to wash your hair every day and you should look into getting a dry shampoo to hold you over on the days in between)

Styling – Do not use a hot tool daily or have such a hot tool set higher than 325. 325 is efficient.

Hair Cuts – You should be treating your extensions just like your regular hair when it comes to getting them cut. You should come in every 4-6 weeks to get them trimmed. This is also a good time for us to look at the extensions to see if any of them need to be replaced or if dread is starting so we can prevent them from fully forming.

The price will vary for each person. It is $140.00 to put extensions in. It costs $280.00  to take out, clean up, rebond them, and place them back in.  The price of hair varies on the type of hair and extension length.

The point of a consultation is to help the client. At the consultation, we are going to discuss with you the colors you are looking to get in your hair and why you are looking to get the extensions. We do not have hair in stock, We want to make sure we match your hair color the best we can or find complementary colors to give depth and dimension to your existing hair… Always up for bright sassy colors as well.

It’s very important to see your hair so we can determine how much your personal hair can with stand-in amount of hair..

This will also be where we can give you the most accurate price quote because we are able to see the length and thickness of your hair. We will also be able to learn why you want the extensions, getting extensions for length vs. thickness could be a difference in price. The best part is the consultation it only takes about 20-30 minutes.

There are a lot of causes to extensions dreading.

One of the main reasons is not maintaining proper care of your extensions. For example, not putting thermal setting sprays on hair before using a hot tool, dries out the real hair and the extensions twice as fast.

you should get 3 uses out of one set of extensions.  Not Putting Hair Up at night or not using the oil and conditioners.

If you use a hot tool a lot and you keep running again and again over the same spots you will be drying the extension out and snapping little pieces of hair of.

However, you can take 100% proper care of your extensions and you could still have tiny dreading because you lose so many pieces of hair a day as a rule. This is why the upkeep on them is so important. We do have people who have never had a single dread and keep extensions in year-round.

Tape-In Extensions will last 6-8 weeks of wear and they are reusable 3-4 times depending on maintenance.

Brush the hair with a hair extension brush several times a day. Be sure to brush properly, holding the roots to prevent pulling on the bonds. Use a wide-tooth comb to remove tangles if needed. Use high-quality hair care products but don’t overdo it, too much hair care product can cause build-up and tangle over time.

After your tape in hair extensions is applied, be sure to wait 48 hours before washing your hair. The adhesive will have been given adequate time to adhere to your natural hair, making them last longer and hold tighter. When you need to shower in those first two days, use a shower cap.
